Thomas Sonderegger (born 1983) has graduated with a Master degree in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2014 and continued with a PhD in the Ecological Systems Design (ESD) group, where he now works as a PostDoc since 2020. His research focus is on Impact Assessment with regard to natural resources. In this context, he has developed a method for water criticality assessment and is developing new approaches to make impact assessment of land degradation operational. Furthermore, he was co-chairing the Mineral Resources task force of the Life Cycle Initiative hosted by UN Environment from 2017 to 2020, which was seeking scientific and methodological consensus on the role of natural resources in Life Cycle Impact Assessment. Before entering the environmental engineering world, he graduated with a Master degree in Music Pedagogy as a drummer from the Zurich University of the Arts (www.thomassonderegger.chcall_made).
